I decided to do a closeup of the side of an old building out on Alameda Point. Rust stains and weeds and this plumbing contraption, which apparently has to do with the building’s sprinklers. It doesn’t look old and decaying, so I suppose the fire dept keeps an eye on these hookups. The December, late afternoon light was golden, thin, and comforting (too frigid in the shade). Bailed outta there when the sun got low enough to cast chilly shadows. It’s another world out there and I like getting swallowed up by my paints and by closely observing these structures. I come home with a well-fed soul.
