These roses near my house have the most wonderful two-toned palette. I adore them — a very pale buttery yellow with pink tips. Delicate and sensual and gorgeous; I only steal one bloom at a time and there are plenty, so I’m not robbing my neighbors of their beauty. I added the one geranium I already had in a vase in my windowsill. Doing this painting yesterday was a delight. In these Covid days, though not by choice, I am now a full-time artist, as graphic design work has dried up. This has been my dream for a few years now. I worked on this daily painting in the morning, then spent the afternoon in my studio working on a commission. It’s gratifying and surprising and a delight. We will see where this paint-spattered road leads me.
