daily painting | class onions

I set up an oniony still life for my watercolor class last weekend and experimented/demo’d using walnut ink, a fabulous medium. The onions were golden brown, and I added magenta watercolor for the purple onion in the back. A wonderful, imaginative and hard-working group of students did gorgeous things with these bulbs, and I was honored to teach them. I look forward to teaching more with the walnut ink for the monochromatic class April  18 at Frank Bette Center in Alameda.
