daily painting | christmas

A quick post to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and Happy Hanukkah. My 8 year old grandson Heath was earnestly and sweetly doing a painting of the family Christmas tree (here in San Diego) so I did a quick sketch of him creating this gift for his mom (he had some watercolor coaching from Mimi — that’s me). So fun to be here though my daily paintings have not turned out so great; I have fun finding garden scenes in my daughter’s back yard to paint but they aren’t quite post-worthy. I’ll keep at it, though today is wet and stormy and chilly (unlike yesterday when we were wearing flip flops). Morning present-opening free-for-all was a blast and I’m enjoying a few quiet moments with Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire while the roast is in the oven. Sending all of you reading this much gratitude and appreciation.
