daily painting | amadia 2.0

Another painting of Amadia from the figure drawing group this week. As I look at this again it seems moody. Maybe it’s because I have my headphones on and am playing ballads that make me cry. I welcome the tears — they are a release. I just finished a Louise Erdrich book, Tales of Burning Love. She is one of my favorite authors. With deep compassion she writes of being human — loving, losing, connecting and living deeply with open-hearted joy and pain and heartbreak. She astounds me and makes me feel more accepting of my swirling feelings and wantings. Do you ever have days when you feel like your heart is being ripped out of your chest and at the same time feel overwhelmed with gratitude at being alive?
