daily painting | sandy’s rose

Yes, it’s been forever since I’ve posted a new painting! I’ve been sketching away in my small sketchbook, doing small watercolor sketches while looking after grandkids in San Diego, and working on preparations to teach this weekend’s urban sketching watercolor workshop in Alameda (sign up here!). I did several iterations of this rose from my daughter’s yard and liked this one (so did Sandy!). I like using my favorite Daniel Smith triad of quinacrodone magenta, pthalo blue, and hansa yellow lite.
