daily painting | the deep end

I wish I’d taken a photo of the “before” of this one — I pulled out an older watercolor/pastel work on paper that was probably 10 years old — not a bad one, but I wanted to recycle the paper. Applying acrylic on top of watercolor creates an interesting mix — if my acrylics are wet and diluted, the watercolor bleeds into the acrylic, making it a rich blend of color. I’m already eyeing the works on canvas that are a couple of years old to see how I can rework them. Fun stuff and also emotional. These paints help me work out many doubts and fears and pains. I should pay them by the hour.
